Deputies 'deal with a whole lot of bull' in backyard swimming pool

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., April 6 (UPI) -- Sheriff's deputies and firefighters in Tennessee responded to a family's back yard to take on a weighty problem: a bull that fell into a covered swimming pool.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said Charlie Team deputies Joshua Richmond and Gene Myers responded to the home Sunday with Dallas Bay Fire Department firefighters to assist the bull after it wandered from its field to the pool area while its owners were repairing a fence.

"Once falling in, the bull became tangled in the pool cover," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post. "After the cover was removed and untangled from the bull, deputies tried numerous times to lead the large animal out of the pool. Finally, deputies and emergency personnel were able to lead the bull to a corner where it was able to safely climb out and return to its field to graze."

"This is definitely one day when Deputies had to deal with a whole lot of bull!" the post said.
