SARASOTA, Fla., April 1 (UPI) -- Two alligators were caught on video engaging in a brief scuffle at a golf course in Sarasota, Fla.

The city of Sarasota shared video taken by golfer Barbara Mossop showing the two gators using their jaws to grapple with each other as onlookers wondered if they were fighting or mating.

"Wow - this brings new meaning to the phrase 'course hazard'!" an official wrote on Sarasota's government Facebook page.

The dominant gator can be seen walking away after a few seconds of grappling, as the second gator bares its teeth and follows in close pursuit.

Sarasota reminded golfers that Bobby Jones Golf Club, where the gators were seen, is more than just a place to golf.

"It's a good reminder that in addition to being a popular golf course, Bobby Jones is an active wildlife habitat -- and you should always golf with caution and be aware of your surroundings," the city said.
