"These lil' guys were thrown in a suitcase & saved by officers Piridis & Goris," they wrote.

While the officers were able to rescue six kittens, a seventh was found dead inside the suitcase the New York Post reports. The surviving two-week-old kittens were treated for malnourishment at the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition and one suffered from a bloody ear.

The kittens were placed in the custody of the ASPCA, where Capt. William Gardner told the New York Daily News that they already had several admirers.

"There were people lined up to take them. Cops were looking to take them home," he said.
