The Sequoia Park Zoo said Masala the red panda, who was found to have escaped from her enclosure at the Eureka, Calif., facility Thursday, was recaptured late Saturday after resident Loretta Hancock spotted the cat-size creature while on her way to a local restaurant and alerted authorities. Advertisement "Masala is back home, safe and sound. She was located very late last evening and is now resting after her big adventure. She will be in quarantine under staff care for a while to ensure all is well," the zoo said in a Facebook post Sunday. Hancock, who remained on the scene after authorities arrived, said it took about two hours for zookeepers to coax Masala down from a tree. The red panda made a run for it, but a zookeeper was able to trap her in a blanket. "I'm happy she's home," Hancock told the Lost Coast Outpost.
