DORADO, Puerto Rico, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- The owners of a Chihuahua recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's smallest dog said the pup originally had to be fed with an eye dropper.

Vanesa Semler and Edwin Davila of Dorado, Puerto Rico, said 4-year-old Chihuahua Miracle Milly, who is listed by Guinness World Records as the smallest living dog at only 3.8 inches tall, had to be fed from an eye dropper for her first six months of life.

The couple said Milly now tips the scales at 1 pound.

Semler and Davila started a Facebook group for Milly's fans. They posted pictures showing how their pet guinea pig, Chupi, is larger than the dog.

"People need to love their animals.  Any size, any color, any kind," the couple were quoted as saying by KING-TV.
