The property was then delisted to allow the project manager to add an extra 1.5 acres to the already massive property.
The annex will include two 3,000 square foot guest houses as well as an ice-skating rink, go-cart track, bowling alley and night club. These features will join the 30 car garage, six waterfalls, 1,300 gallon aquarium and 18 seat IMAX theatre that already grace the now 4.5 acre property.
The Wall Street Journal quoted project manager Joseph Leone as saying his goal in developing the property was to create "something completely different than what's been done in America."
Pereira, founder of Middlesex Corp., had intended to live in the home himself but ultimately decided to sell the extravagant mansion.
The sale of this property may prove to be difficult despite all of its amenities, as local real estate agent Judy Trudel told the Sun Sentinel that a buyer with that kind of capital will be hard to find.
"You don't see $159 million in Hillsboro Beach Florida," she said. "Hope they get it, but I would not be waiting around for it."
