FUZHOU, China, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- A Chinese couple's Singles' Day shopping spree got out of hand, as they called in police to settle a domestic dispute.

The 24-year-old couple, Li and Zhang, exhausted their credit limits in less than two hours while shopping online during Singles' Day. The annual Chinese holiday features nationwide sales on online products.

The couple spent about $3,142 before realizing that they hadn't bought any gifts for each other.

Li accused her husband of only buying gifts for himself and his family, and Zhang berated her for wasting money on useless junk.

They then proceeded to argue until 3 a.m. at which point they called police to settle the dispute.

Police eventually got them to settle down and advised the young couple to spend their money more reasonably.
