SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Ride-sharing service Uber is teaming with animal shelters across the United States to celebrate National Cat Day with kittens visiting workplaces.

Uber said app users in numerous markets can select the "kittens" option between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday to receive a 15-minute visit from a carload of kittens for a $30 "snuggle fee."

The ride-sharing service said profits from the National Cat Day Event will be funneled back into partnering shelters.

Uber said some markets are limiting the service to workplaces only, with home visits being banned for "safety reasons."

The 50 participating cities include Los Angeles, Denver, Cleveland, San Antonio, Philadelphia, Detroit, Montreal, New York, New Orleans, Seattle, Toronto and Washington.
