CANBERRA, Australia, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- An Australian mom who spent days in the hospital with her infant son found two surprises on her car -- a parking ticket and a note from the stranger who paid it.

The mother, posting anonymously on the Camberra Mums Facebook page, said she spent "a few days" in the hospital with her 9-week-old son and she emerged after his release to find there was a parking ticket on her car.

The woman wrote a closer look revealed a second surprise: it had already been paid by a stranger.

"After those days in hospital, a parking ticket was one more thing that I didn't need," the woman wrote.

The mother's benefactor, a woman named Laura, left a note with the ticket saying it had already been paid.

"Hi there, I saw your car had a parking ticket on it, I'm sure whatever you are going through at the hospital is tough enough so I have paid it for you," the note reads. "Hope things get better!"

The woman said she shared the note online to thank Laura.

"I hope that Laura sees this and knows how much I appreciate her support. Thank you so much," she wrote.
