Bungee rig takes portable water slide to the next level of speed

COCOA BEACH, Fla., July 16 (UPI) -- A Florida kiteboarding club rigged a bungee cord to a portable water slide for a party featuring high-speed sliding, tubing and surfing filmed with a GoPro camera.

The video of the "Bungee Slip 'N Slide Party," posted to YouTube by Derek O'Donnell, shows Fourth of July revelers clinging to the Banshee Bungee cord and launching themselves across the soaped-up slippery surface, with some attempting to stand atop boogie boards with varying degrees of success.

O'Donnell said the rig was set up by the Goodbreeze Kiteboarding club.

He said in a Reddit post his next plan is to try a similar rig on a downhill slope for even more speed.
