KAILI CITY, China, March 19 (UPI) -- A faulty latch on the back of a Chinese cargo truck resulted in nearly 10,000 pounds of live catfish being spilled onto a Guizhou Province road.

Crews of firefighters responded Tuesday to the road in Kaili City after the latch on the back of the truck transporting the fish gave way while the vehicle was traveling uphill and spilled its load onto the street.

Firefighters and witnesses gathered the nearly 5 tons of live catfish and sprayed them with hoses to keep them alive until a bulldozer could scoop them back into the truck.
