New Jersey dash cam records suspected meteor

Pete Czech said his dash cam recorded the meteor while he was traveling on Interstate 287 near Cedar Knolls.

CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- A New Jersey motorist posted dash cam footage of a suspected meteor on a night that saw 330 reports of falling star sightings in the eastern United States.

Pete Czech said the dash cam video he posted to YouTube was taken at 6:33 p.m. Monday night while he was driving on Interstate 287 near Cedar Knolls.

The American Meteor Society said it received 330 reports of meteor sightings from around the same time Monday in eastern states stretching from Maine to Maryland.
