ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- A Florida truck driver broke down in tears after his semi carrying 44,000 pounds of Miller High Life beer was stolen from a truck stop in Orange County Monday.

His truck and one other were jacked from the South Orange Blossom Trail. Van Thomas, the driver of the Miller High Life truck, said the thieves took everything when they stole his rig.

Thomas bought his own semi three weeks ago to start a truck-driving business after years of driving for others. Thomas would have made about $1,300 from the delivery, but he was more concerned about his lost livelihood.

"I don't mean to cry about it but I'm just trying to do the best I can and make a better life," he told WFTV.

The 44,000 pounds of beer equals about 9,700 four-packs.

The story ends well. Thomas was notified by police that they had found his truck with most of the cargo.
