LONDON, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- A British photographer taking scenic pictures at Lake District National Park captured the image of a strange object resembling the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

Ellie Williams, 24, of London, said she set up her camera on a tripod to take automatic pictures at the Windermere lake throughout the day to attempt to photograph some of the park's wildlife, and she was shocked when she looked over the pictures and spotted the strange shape.

Williams stopped short of suggesting the creature could be Nessie taking a trip 150 miles from her traditional home at Loch Ness in Scotland, however.

"When I reviewed all the images I thought it might have been a swan or a goose, as I was looking at the image on my smartphone," Williams told The Mirror. "I'm open to suggestions as to what the creature could be -- I'm just glad I put the camera in the right place at the right time."

Tourists have reported seeing a Nessie-like creature at the park previously. The rumored beast, nicknamed "Bownessie," was first sighted in 2006.
