FIFE, Wash., Aug. 13 (UPI) -- A Washington man who was looking for some love on the run from a trucker was allegedly seeing red after his request for a date was turned down.

A male trucker stopped at Love's Truck Stop in Fife on Sunday and he ran into the suspect, Robert Truelove.

According to the man, the 47-year-old propositioned him, KOMO reported. "Do you want to go on a date?" Truelove asked.

When the alleged victim declined the offer, Truelove became angry and peeled off his shirt. He then proceeded to pick up a large piece of metal and began "advancing on the victim while threatening to kill him."

The man ran to lock himself inside his truck and police were called.

Truelove denied doing anything wrong, but was still charged with assault and felony harassment and banned from coming back to the truck stop.
