Logger Garrett Smith used the machine to free a black bear that had gotten its head jammed into an old milk can. Advertisement The weather on the day of the rescue was warm and Smith was worried that the bear would suffer a serious injury if it wasn't freed quickly. In a cellphone video of the rescue, the bear can be seen running back into the woods after Smith and the forwarder got him free. Darby Simpson, Smith's girlfriend, told WEAU the video was taken by the landowner.
