After showing off a 49ers charm bracelet and mentioning that she’d like to take her grandchildren to the Super Bowl (again), Pelosi got really excited about San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
“We love our quarterback, the tattoos, the big arms, the whole deal,” Pelosi said.
“As I say, on any given Sunday anything can happen. The Seahawks fans are a feisty lot. They’re not selling tickets to anybody from California,” Pelosi said. “You have to be from Oregon, Washington or Alaska if you’re on the West Coast. They like making all that noise. It’s a factor.”
During her remarks, Pelosi also referenced former San Fran QB Joe Montana (although she did get his uniform number wrong).
“It’s amazing what a difference a Sunday makes. We’ll find out on Sunday how it will go. The world of sport is a beautiful thing. It’s so much fun, isn’t it? And it’s not political. It’s just great,” she said.
Although there won’t be any votes on the line on Sunday, Pelosi did say she has a “chocolate bet” on the game with Congressional members from Washington State.
