Advertisement Magistrates decided against activating a suspended sentence for 34-year-old Tanya Casey. During the court proceedings, prosecutor Claire Hancock said that Casey “could be seen with her trousers down lent up against the church, defecating.” When Casey was breathalyzed after the incident, police were able to confirm that she had been drinking. The owner of the creperie, John Fenton, said the incident was bad for business. “These disgusting incidents that are becoming far more common are affecting my business -- they make customers go elsewhere -- ‘Who would want to eat with this happening right in front of them?’” Fenton said. Casey told the court that she was guilty of urinating but not of defecating. “Whatever it is that you were doing it’s extremely unpleasant in a public place and totally inappropriate and unnecessary,” said lead magistrate Sue Griffin.
