Italian farmer busted for keeping tiger in his house

MUNGANO, Italy, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Italian authorities said a farmer arrested for keeping a tiger inside his home told investigators he found the animal and was hoping to sell it.

Police said Massimo Di Guida, 36, was arrested Tuesday at his home in Mungano, near Naples, when he was found to be keeping a tiger inside the house, ANSA reported Tuesday.

The farmer told investigators he found the tiger several months ago and kept it in the hopes of finding a buyer for the big cat.

Police said Di Guida was also charged with drug possession with intent to deal after officers discovered more than 2 pounds of marijuana divided into baggies along with a scale and marijuana seeds.
