Poll: U.S. voters prefer hemorrhoids to Congress

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 9 (UPI) -- A North Carolina pollster said its survey indicates U.S. voters prefer hemorrhoids to the current U.S. Congress.

Public Policy Polling said its telephone poll of 502 registered voters, conducted Oct. 4-6, found 53 percent of those polled have a higher opinion of hemorrhoids than Congress, while 73 percent said they prefer jury duty to the legislative body and 46 percent said they had a higher opinion of witches than lawmakers.

The poll indicated Congress has an overall approval rating of 8 percent, with 7 percent of Democrats expressing approval and 10 percent of Republicans saying they approve.

Public Policy Polling said the poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
