MOSCOW, July 30 (UPI) -- Moscow police said they have busted a ring of professed so-called psychics accused of convincing people they were cursed and then charging to remove the hexes.

Investigators said Tuesday the suspects used their Sapphira parapsychology center, which advertised its services on several popular cable networks, to operate a call center where "psychics" would convince callers they were cursed and then charge for "magical" rituals to remove the curses over the phone, RIA Novosti reported Tuesday.

Police said six of the professed psychics face fraud charges and could receive up to 10 years in prison if convicted. The suspects' names were not released.
