JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 3 (UPI) -- The Florida Department of Transportation said the company behind an interstate sign that misspells the state's name is correcting the error.

The sign, which was photographed at the side of the road while awaiting installation at J. Turner Butler Boulevard and Interstate 95 in Jacksonville, misspells Florida as "Flordia" twice in giving information on the exit for the University of North Florida and Florida State College's North Campus, First Coast News, Jacksonville, reported Wednesday.

DOT officials said the sign was made by an Arkansas company and the firm is fixing the error at no additional cost to taxpayers.
