DUNFERMLINE, Scotland, June 10 (UPI) -- A British psychic who says he can speak to the dead canceled a show in Scotland due to "unforeseen circumstances."

Derek Acorah, 63, star of TV's "Most Haunted" canceled an Eternal Spirits Tour show Saturday at Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline with the venue's website listing "unforeseen circumstances" as the cause, Sunday People reported.

"You would think he would have seen it coming," a ticket-holding fan quipped to Sunday People.

Brian Shaw, Acorah's booking agent, said the notice was written by Carnegie Hall officials.

"Why the theater ... used the words 'unforeseen circumstances' I don't know," Shaw said. "You couldn't make it up -- it's an old music hall joke. We transferred the date more than a week ago to the Adam Smith Theater in Kirkcaldy for Sept. 11. All tickets will be transferable and still be valid. It made more sense to do that due to the other upcoming dates on Derek's tour and for personal reasons."
