The New York Daily News said the worker, 39, was unloading 40-pound boxes of pineapple from a shipping container when the stack toppled over and buried him. It took firefighters several minutes to remove enough of the boxes to even find the victim.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration is investigating the incident.
