Deputy ropes 10-foot alligator in Florida

PALM HABOR, Fla., April 30 (UPI) -- A Florida sheriff's deputy used a rope to capture a 10-foot alligator found wandering in a business area.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Deputy Jeff Crandall said the alligator was spotted wandering onto a road outside an Achieva Bank in Palm Harbor, WTSP-TV, St. Petersburg, reported Monday.

Crandall said he was the first to arrive on the scene and captured the gator with a rope.

Crandall said he last wrangled a gator when he was a rookie deputy about 15 years ago.

Officials said the gator would be euthanized.
