PERTH, Australia, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- An 85-year-old Australian priest who rappelled down the side of a cathedral said his stunt was designed to challenge negative stereotypes of seniors.

Tim Harrison, who said he rappelled once before during World War II, rappelled Tuesday down the side of the 131-foot-tall bell tower of St. George's Cathedral in Perth to promote Western Australia's Nov. 11-18 Seniors Week and challenge negative stereotypes of senior citizens, The Daily Telegraph, Sydney, reported Tuesday.

"All my life I have put my faith in Jesus Christ, but for the past 10 minutes it has been with Mick upstairs," Harrison said of the supervising expert from the Adventure Out outdoor activities group.

Harrison said his stunt is proof that he still has a few good years left.
