Century-old tortoise dies

SILVER SPRINGS, Fla., April 22 (UPI) -- A 660-pound Aldabra tortoise more than 100 years old has died at the Silver Springs Nature's Theme Park in Silver Springs, Fla., officials say.

Frank the Tank passed away in his pen Thursday, The Ocala (Fla.) Star-Banner reported. Considered to be the theme park's oldest animal, the park was Frank's home for more than 40 years.

Aldabra tortoises are native to the Aldabra group of islands of Seychelles, a country off the east coast of Africa.
