KETRZYN, Poland, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- The Polish Forestry Service said Wolf's Lair, the site that hosted Adolf Hitler's base during World War II, can be rented for $138,400 per year.

The service said the previous lease expired after 20 years and they are now looking for a new tenant for the property, which still houses the shattered shells of the bunkers destroyed by retreating German forces in November 1944, The Daily Telegraph, Britain, reported Wednesday.

Wolf's Lair, which was the site of the famous July 1944 failed assassination attempt on Hitler, also includes a hotel and a restaurant.

"There is no way you can rebuild the bunkers," forestry service representative Zenon Piotrowicz said. "We are concerned more about having the place made more attractive to tourists, including the renovation of the hotel and restaurant."
