Man allegedly hit mom twice with car

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said a man allegedly hit his mother with her car twice when she attempted to stop him from driving.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said the mother told them Anthony Migliaccio, 23, hit her with the car, knocking her onto the hood, when she attempted to stop him from driving the Mazda 323 Monday because he has a suspended license, the St. Augustine (Fla.) Times-Union reported Thursday.

The woman said Migliaccio hit her with the car a second time while she was on the ground. She sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Flagler Hospital.

Investigators said Migliaccio crashed the car into a fence and fled the area on foot. He was arrested when deputies found him crouching in some nearby woods.

Migliaccio was charged with felony counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, hit and run and criminal mischief. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest without violence. He was jailed with bond set at $62,000.
