Russia opening world's first ice theater

MOSCOW, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Moscow officials announced the world's first ice theater will open Dec. 11 with a performance of "Teremok."

The officials said Thursday the theater, the centerpiece of the Russian Winter Festival's Christmas Village in Moscow's Revolution Square, will stage the popular Russian fairy tale with all settings and characters made from ice, RIA Novosti reported Thursday.

The city said the Dec. 11 opening will mark the world's first ice theater performance.
