Missing cat found at New York airport

NEW YORK, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- American Airlines announced it has found a cat lost more than seven weeks ago at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.

The airline announced Jack, the cat lost by airline workers Aug. 25 while his owner, Karen Pascoe, was preparing to fly home to California, was found in the customs room at the airport and taken to a local veterinarian, ABC News reported Wednesday.

American Airlines said the cat was given a clean bill of health and will soon be flown to California to be with Pascoe.

The cat was found after the Oct. 22 "Jack the Cat Awareness Day" at the airport, which aimed to encourage airport workers to be on the lookout for the missing feline.
