Police: Man pulled gun during TV dispute

GAINESVILLE, Fla., July 29 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said they arrested a 74-year-old man who allegedly pulled a gun on his roommate during an argument about the TV volume.

The Gainesville Police Department said the roommate told them Ernest Michael Chapman, 74, came into the living room while he was watching television at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and complained about the volume, The Gainesville Sun reported Friday.

The roommate said he refused to turn the TV down and Chapman retrieved a silver handgun from his bedroom. He said the man pointed the gun at his face and demanded he comply with his volume-lowering demand.

Police said the roommate fled the apartment and called 911.

Chapman was charged with aggravated assault.
