Designer leaves $82,000 to his dogs

LONDON, July 27 (UPI) -- British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who committed suicide last year, bequeathed $82,000 to his three dogs, his will revealed.

London resident McQueen, who killed himself in February 2010 at the age of 40, left the amount to his English bull terriers, Juice, Minter and Callum, as well as $82,000 each to his two housekeepers, The Sun reported Wednesday.

McQueen left behind a total fortune of about $26 million, with much of it going to family members and a large amount going to a trust for his Sarabande charity, which provides grants for students at Central St. Martin's College Of Art and Design in London.

The fashion designer also left money to charities including The Terrence Higgins Trust, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, the London Buddhist Center and the animal welfare organization Blue Cross.
