The young bank customer said he found only one counter open for business, while other customers were waiting before him.

"I go to ask a worker why there is only one counter in use, but he shows a cold attitude," the man was quoted as saying.

The bank worker said the irate customer came when the staff was taking an afternoon break but that he didn't have to wait long.

The report said the customer began withdrawing one yuan (14 U.S. cents) at a time for an hour before police came to resolve the matter.

It was not clear whether he used checks or some other method to get his money.

"We had no other choice, because he didn't violate any rules of the bank. The policemen came only to persuade him to stop," a bank worker said.
