KING, Wash., June 1 (UPI) -- Rescuers in Washington state said a man who was apparently urinating at the side of a road lost his footing and fell down a 30-foot embankment.

Dave Nelson, spokesman for King County Fire District 20, said the man used his cellphone to call 911 at about 4:30 a.m. and reported he had fallen down an embankment, Seattlepi.com reported Tuesday.

"He said he didn't know where he was, but the last place he remembered being was near 129th and Martin Luther King," Nelson said.

KING-TV, Seattle, reported the man had been urinating at the side of the road and fell when startled by a car.

Nelson said rescue crews did not report suspicion of drug or alcohol impairment.

Responders executed a low-angle rope rescue with the help of a Renton Fire Department truck, and the man was transported to Valley Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
