NEW YORK, March 27 (UPI) -- A couple who met in front of a display window at Macy's in New York two years ago are getting married -- and Macy's says it is happily footing the bill.

New York policeman Moise Naolo and paralegal Santina Bowers will walk down the main aisle of Macy's Herald Square courtesy of the store, which is paying for everything from the gown and tuxedo to the wedding cake, the New York Daily News reported Sunday.

The two met by chance outside the store in 2009 in front of display windows with floral displays promoting the store's annual spring show.

"She was beautiful," Naolo, 26, said.

"I was dying to ride the subway, as all good tourists should do," Bowers, 38, from Pasadena, Calif., recalled. "He cautioned me, 'That's not a safe thing to do. You look like a tourist.'"

Naolo offered to show her the city, and a couple of dates followed.

When Bowers returned to California, "we kept in contact through text messaging and phone calls pretty much every night," Naolo said, and a long-distance relationship blossomed.

In July, Naolo asked his girlfriend to accompany him to a wedding in New York, but it was a ruse: he'd convinced Macy's to hang a sign inside the window where they had first met reading, "Will You Marry Me, Santina?"

Bowers said yes, and the two decided to wed during the first day of Macy's annual Flower Show.

"It brings everything full circle for us," Bowers said. "It's where we met, where he proposed, and for us to be married there, it's beyond our dreams."
