SANFORD, Fla., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A Florida man said a pair of black bears attacked his 2004 silver Ford Taurus outside of his house, causing damage to the roof and a tire.
David Swerdlow, 63, of Seminole County near Wekiwa Springs State Park, said a neighbor spotted the bears on his car at about 1 a.m. Tuesday and by the time he awoke the morning, the animals had caved in the roof and punctured a tire, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Wednesday.
Swerdlow said he did not have any food inside the car, which he estimated would cost about $1,500 to repair.
Susan Carroll-Douglas of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the agency is investigating the incident.
"We're looking into it," she said. "The car situation doesn't happen very often."
