Museum has hair from Lincoln, Elvis

INDEPENDENCE, Mo., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- A Missouri woman who owns and operates a museum dedicated to hair says she has locks from Elvis Presley, two presidents and other historical figures.

Leila Cohoon, a former hairdresser who owns and operates Leila's Hair Museum in Independence, said besides the King of Rock 'n' Roll, her displays also include hair from George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Marilyn Monroe, KSHB-TV, Kansas City, Mo., reported Tuesday.

The former hairdresser said the collection also includes jewelry and wreaths made from human hair.

"I love every piece I get," she said. "I sit down and study them with a magnifying glass."

Cohoon said she is working on publishing an instructional book on creating hair wreaths.
