NEW YORK, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Late U.S. pop star Michael Jackson ranks No.1 on Forbes magazine's 10th annual list of the Top-Earning Dead Celebrities.

Jackson, who died in June 2009 at the age of 50, earned $275 million during the period of October 2009 through October 2010, out-earning the other dozen deceased stars on the list combined, Forbes said.

Coming in at No. 2 on the roster is Elvis Presley with $60 million, followed by author J.R.R. Tolkien with $50 million at No. 3, "Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz with $33 million at No. 4, singer-songwriter John Lennon with $17 million at No. 5, writer Stieg Larsson with $15 million at No. 6, Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel with $11 million at No. 7, scientist Albert Einstein with $10 million at No. 8, sports franchise owner George Steinbrenner with $8 million at No. 9 and songwriter Richard Rodgers with $7 million at No. 10.

Tying for the No. 11 spot with $6 million are musician Jimi Hindrex and actor Steve McQueen. Television producer Aaron Spelling wraps up the list with $5 million at No. 13, Forbes said.
