ROCKFORD, Ill., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- An Illinois couple said their son, born only one minute after his sister, was their city's first baby of 2011.

Brandon Lewis, 24, and Ashley Fansler, 23, said daughter Madisen Carin Lewis was born at 11:59 p.m. Friday at Rockford Memorial Hospital and her fraternal twin brother, Aiden Everette Lewis, became Rockford's first infant of 2011 one minute later, the Rockford Register-Star reported Tuesday.

"The one doctor was counting down, saying it was 11:57 and then 11:58," Brandon Lewis said. "And then all of a sudden 11:59 came and they took (Madisen) out right away. They then waited until 12:00 to take (Aiden) out ... That was definitely the best (New Year's countdown) I have had."
