PICKERING, Ontario, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- A Canadian teenager whose father has thrown dozens of bottled messages into the Atlantic Ocean says she has received replies from England and Ireland.

Cally Rumbolt of Pickering, Ontario, said her father Randy Rumbolt threw dozens of bottles with enclosed messages into the ocean off the coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2007 and 2008, the Toronto Star reported Monday.

The teenager said the messages included her address and asked anyone who found the bottles to mail her a reply. She said she has received replies from as far away as Ireland and England.

Sofi-Ona Hamer of Scotland recently discovered one of the bottles but was unable to make out the majority of the message. She was able to make out a portion of the address and was able to track down the bottle's origins with the help of the Star. She said she now plans to mail a reply to Rumbolt.
