NEW RICHMOND, Wis., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- A Wisconsin man's 1,810-pound pumpkin has been certified as the world's heaviest by Guinness World Records.

Guinness officials said they inspected the pumpkin grown by Chris Stevens of New Richmond after it won a competition this month in Stillwater, Minn., and it beat out the previous record holder, grown by an Ohio farmer, by 85 pounds, the Pierce County (Wis.) Herald reported Friday.

Stevens said seaweed, cow manure and fish emulsion were among the tools he used to grow his pumpkin to its gargantuan size.
