NEW YORK, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- The Guinness World Record holders for the largest and smallest dogs in the world met for the first time in New York's Central Park.

The dogs, a 3-inch-tall, 2-pound Chihuahua named Boo Boo and a 43-inch-tall, 245-pound Great Dane named Giant George, had a cordial first meeting Wednesday in the park, their owners told the New York Daily News.

"I thought he might want a snack or something, but he was very gentle," Lana Elswick, Boo Boo's owner, said of Giant George. "Boo Boo was fascinated. She waited a few minutes and then she went over."

Elswick, of Kentucky, said Boo Boo weighed only 1 ounce when she was born and eats only one tablespoon of dog food per day.

Giant George, meanwhile, goes through 110 pounds of dog food each month, said owner David Nasser of Tucson.

"He would eat twice that if we let him," Nasser said. "He's great, very playful with tons of energy."
