Wan Xingming, 62, a Pengzhou farmer, said he and his wife knew the pig was special when it was found in the ruins of his sty June 17, 2008, 36 days after the May 12 Sichuan province earthquake that killed more than 90,000 people, China Daily reported Thursday. Advertisement However, Wan said financial struggles forced them to sell the pig, now dubbed Zhu Jianqiang, or strong-willed pig, to the province's Jianchuan Museum Cluster, which pledged to take good care of it for the rest of its life. Wan said the museum is sending a car for him and his wife to attend celebrations for the second anniversary of Zhu Jianqiang's rescue. "I am also happy my wife and I will be able to see our plucky porker Zhu Jianqiang, again. I have seen it only twice since it was sold to the Jianchuan Museum Cluster," Wan said.
