LONGMONT, Colo., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Colorado police said they were investigating the robbery of a restaurant employee by two unarmed people in "ninja"-like costumes.

Longmont Police Sgt. Garrett Boden said the 68-year-old Deli Cioso employee who was confronted by the robbers Sunday night told investigators the perpetrators were on the shorter side and dressed "like ninja" in all black, the Longmont Times-Call reported Wednesday.

The victim said the robbers, who he could not identify as male or female, ran up to him, took his money and fled without saying a word. However, stealthy as they might have been, Boden cautioned against a literal interpretation of the suspects as "ninjas."

"Nobody was walking around with swords or large knives or anything like that," Boden said.
