MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- More than 70 percent of Canadian NFL football fans said in a poll for Pepsico they hold off bathroom breaks so they can watch Super Bowl commercials.

In the run-up to the Feb. 1 game between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers in Tampa, the soft drink maker polled an undisclosed number of fans across Canada, and found 72 percent enjoy the special commercials created for the game and make a point of staying in the room to watch them.

The poll found 61 percent of Canadians take 1-2 bathroom breaks during the broadcast, while 30 percent make 3-4 visits.

As for locale, 85 percent said they made the game a social event and watched it with family and friends in a home setting, 10 percent watch the game alone; and 4 percent said they watched the Super Bowl in a bar.

This year, Diet Pepsi TV ads in Canada will feature 60-second spots featuring "individuals who imagine what it would be like to infuse their current everyday lives with the youthful fun reminiscent of sleepovers and schoolyard recess," the release said.
