Police: Armored car worker fished for cash

NEW YORK, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- New York authorities claim an armored car employee used a homemade rod to fish for cash in the bags he picked up.

Dunbar Armored employee Toemirin Wongsonadi, 56, was charged with grand larceny and other charges after he allegedly used a length of metal wire and his rod to reel in $40,932 over the course of 11 months, the New York Post reported Friday.

Police said they found seven $100 bills in Wongsonadi's pockets when he was arrested and an additional five $100 bills in his wallet.

He could face seven years in jail if convicted, the Post said.
