MASON, Ohio, July 6 (UPI) -- A former firefighter in Mason, Ohio, pleaded guilty to drunken driving to avoid charges for wearing a blond wig and bikini in a city park.

Steven Cole pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated and disorderly conduct in exchange for prosecutors dropping a public indecency charge and a count of having an open beer, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Friday.

Assistant Prosecutor Juliette Dame said the indecency charge could have been proven based on witness accounts.

"But I think this worked out best for everyone," she said. "He admitted to (drunken driving). He's taken responsibility for his actions with counseling and that's really what's most important at this point."

Cole was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to attend a three-day mandatory driver intervention program for drunken driving. He has also been barred from the city's parks and ordered not to drive for six months except in cases relating to work, counseling sessions, family appointments and visits with his probation officer. He must also pay a $250 fine.
