The eight suspects ranged in age from 14 to 23, the Malaysian Star reported. But most were the same size as a small 13-year-old. Investigators say the eight were arrested after members of a residents' association reported seeing strangers loitering suspiciously in a field. Once they were taken to the police station, they allegedly "blurted out" confessions. Four cell phones, a digital camera and 250 ringgits ($72) were seized. Investigators said they believe the suspects were opportunists, looking for houses where gates had been left unlocked. They allegedly carried out burglaries while the occupants were asleep.
