SANDTON, South Africa, July 14 (UPI) -- Bill Clinton and Nelson Mandela launched a fundraiser in South Africa for children with heart disease that offers donors tea with the South African leader.

The former U.S. and South African presidents launched the "Priceless Moments" fundraiser for the Walter Sisulu Pediatric Cardiac Center for Africa Thursday at Sandton's Sunninghill Hospital, Pretoria News reported Friday.

The program allows donors to bid on activities with South African celebrities, including tea with Mandela himself, to fund heart surgery for young patients.

"When you reach a certain point, and you've had your struggles and your successes, all of a sudden the most important thing becomes that no child should die without having had the chance to live his or her dreams -- and make their own mistakes too," said Clinton, who said he and his wife Hillary will personally pay for two operations.

In addition to tea with Mandela, the auction will offer a singing lesson with singer Miriam Makeba, a weekend with Olympic swimmer Ryk Neethling, bungee jumping with cricketer Shaun Pollock, and more.
